Mammoth-
These plants can reach a height of 8 feet or more when they are well cultivated and serve as a great screen or backdrop. The flower heads are particularly striking with their brown centers and yellow petals, often measuring around 12 inches in diameter. Once dried, the seed heads can be harvested and sold as is for wild bird food. Alternatively, you can spread them out indoors until the seeds become loose and separate from the heads. Afterwards, you can package them as snack food or for use in baking.

The sunflower is a versatile plant that can be grown in both fields and containers. Similar to our other dwarf varieties, the ultimate height of the plant will be determined by the size of the container it is grown in. If you sow the seeds directly in a 4-inch pot, you can expect plants that reach a height of 8-12 inches. In a garden setting, they can grow up to 35-42 inches tall, with stems ranging from 14-25 inches in length. This particular variety of sunflower is one of the earliest blooming teddy types we have tested. It has a branching habit and produces sunny, shaggy blooms that measure 3-5 inches in diameter. This variety is especially popular among children and has minimal pollen production.
