In the eastern areas of Canada, Summer Savory is much appreciated and is used instead of Sage to give flavour to different types of meat and poultry dishes. It has a distinctive zesty and sweet taste, and in France and Bulgaria it is a well-known seasoning, with the dried and ground up leaves being often used as a salad accompaniment.
