We suggest using an alternative to the Kermit eggplant variety. This substitute resembles Kermit but has fruits that are darker and display a more pronounced veining pattern. The fruits have a diameter of 1 1/2–2" and offer a delicious flavor with a slight ribbing. The plants are well-branched, although they are slightly less vigorous than Kermit and take a bit longer to mature. The calyx of this alternative is green in color.
